Calymene (Colpocoryphe) Trilobite
📍 Only available for shipment in Tunisia
The Story
Trilobites were a highly diverse group of extinct marine arthropods and among the most successful early animals on our planet. This specimen, belonging to the Calymene group, dates back to the Upper Ordovician period. Recovered from the Ktaoua Group in the Anti-Atlas Region of Morocco, these trilobites are preserved as internal molds within ancient sandstone. Having survived the vast stretches of geological time—from their emergence 521 million years ago to their eventual extinction 250 million years ago—these "three-lobed" creatures serve as a profound sign of the complex biological history embedded within the Earth’s crust.
