The Story

Ammonites were a prolific group of marine mollusks that thrived in the world's oceans for over 300 million years before going extinct alongside the dinosaurs. This specimen from Madagascar has been meticulously sliced and polished to reveal the complex internal chambers—known as septa—which the animal used to control its buoyancy. Presented in a floating frame with a display stand, this piece showcases the iconic golden spiral, a natural sign of mathematical precision found in the deep past. Over millions of years, these chambers became filled with various minerals, creating a beautiful contrast of colors that makes each piece a one-of-a-kind relic of the Earth's ancient oceans.

Heritage & Authenticity Note

 * Quantity: Please note that each purchase is for ONE (1) individual Polished Ammonite with its associated frame and stand.

 * Authenticity: All items are guaranteed authentic by Dahr • Earth & Era. These are genuine fossils recovered from Madagascar and polished to highlight their internal beauty.

 * Natural Variation: Please note that the item pictured is a representative of our collection. Because these are natural treasures of the Earth, the specific ammonite you receive will vary in size, color, pattern, and the degree of mineralization within the chambers.

 * Nature’s Mark: As genuine fossils approximately 100 million years old, natural surface imperfections, small pits, or varied mineral colors are expected. These are not defects but are characteristic signs of the item's genuine ancient nature and the fossilization process.

 * Handling: While polished for display, fossilized material is inherently brittle. The display frame is designed for protection; however, the fossil should not be subjected to impact or dropped.

 * Return Policy: To maintain the integrity of our collection, all sales are final. No refunds are accepted except in extraordinary circumstances, solely at the discretion of the gallery.
